Bellrock Technology is a high-tech software company based in Glasgow. It helps large organisations to exploit their data, improve decision making and so increase productivity, safety and efficiency. The company’s main product, Lumen(r), is the world’s most advanced deployment platform for predictive analytics.
Lumen was originally devised at the University of Strathclyde. Adam Brown, Bellrock Technology’s CEO and former Research Assistant at the University, participated in and won Converge Challenge in 2011.
“The guidance and support I received through each stage was invaluable. I left the programme feeling well equipped and in a much stronger position to progress.”
Since spinning out in 2012, Bellrock Technology has worked with a number of blue-chip utilities, including three of the UK’s Big Six: EDF Energy, ScottishPower and SSE. They have attracted funded of c. £1.2m to support Lumen’s continued development, including equity investment from ESM Investments, the Scottish Investment Bank and the University of Strathclyde.
In November 2017, Bellrock Technology announced a major extension of their work with EDF Energy to enhance the monitoring of critical electrical equipment. They broadened its already close partnership with the utility, which began in 2015 through R&D to improve the monitoring of its UK nuclear reactors.
Bellrock Technology is aiming to achieve its first international sales in 2018. It is also actively pursuing significant opportunities in sectors outside energy markets, many with multinational companies.
