MicroSense Technologies Ltd, led by Marc Desmulliez, were crowned joint winners of Converge Challenge 2016 for their sensor system aimed at reducing waste and improving process monitoring in food processing lines for the Food & Drinks industries.
Marc, who is also Deputy Head of the Institute of Sensors, Signals and Systems in the School of Engineering and Physical Sciences at Heriot-Watt University, initially applied to the competition in 2014 with DiverSense which also reached the Top 10 the following year. The team took the learnings from their Converge experience and returned in 2016 with a more targeted proposition, securing them the top spot!
MicroSense Technologies Ltd are currently seeking investments from angel investors and are trialling their system in two food & drinks companies in Scotland and England.
